Lt. Baum is am member of the 91st Battalion, Military Police, stationed at Fort Drum and currently on duty in Afghanistan.

He first visited the Oswego Sunrise Club seven years ago to talk about his experiences as an Eagle Scout.

He has graduate from RIT on a ROTC scholarship and was commission as a lieutenant in the Army.

Lt. Baum asked to be assigned to Camp Drum and was assigned to his current duty training the Afghanistan Police.

He found that children threw rocks at his troops.

He asked his parents to send him toys and candy for the children.

Many groups have collected to send toys, candy and supplies to the troops.

Making peace with the children helps the Americans earn their trust.

The Oswego Sunrise Rotary has given $100 to help send the collected toys and candy to the troops.
