OSWEGO – The Oswego Common Council approved the use of various streets for the Tri-Oswego Triathlon, which will be held Saturday (June 18).
Residents and motorists should be aware that various roads along the course will be closed to traffic.
Area residents are reminded to refrain from pulling in or out of driveways onto roadways that are part of the race course from 8 – 11:30 a.m. on race day.
The roads included in the race route will be closed to traffic as specified in the attached map, however; traffic will be allowed to cross the route, at the direction of event personnel, at the West Sixth Street intersection only.
Before and during the event, Wright’s Landing access will be restricted.
Participants should access parking via West First Street and check-in with event organizers.
Spectators are encouraged to find side street parking where legal and available (off the race route), then make their way to Wright’s Landing and Breitbeck Park areas for the event.
For the safety of all, the mayor reminds those with pets to abide by the local leash law to prevent any unfortunate accidents.
“Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation and assistance in helping to make this a successful event for our community,” the mayor said.
