GRANBY, NY – On Aug. 31 at approximately 8:15 p.m., a trooper from NYSP Fulton was dispatched to 5 Donna Drive in the town of Granby for a trespass complainant.
The caller stated an unwanted person was sitting a black jeep in his driveway.
Upon arrival, a female, later identified as Dawn C. North (05/29/1960), of 814 West Balden Ave., Syracuse, was observed walking around the side yard of 5 Donna Drive.
North was instructed to stand in front of the black jeep while the complainant was interviewed.
While the complainant was being interviewed, North ran around her Jeep, enter it and started it up.
North was instructed to stop but instead drove off southbound on Rathburn Road.
The trooper pursued North in who failed to stop for the emergency lights and siren.
North eventually stopped on State Route 3 near County Route 8 and was taken into custody.
After being handcuffed, North continued to fight with troopers.
A small amount of controlled substance was located inside North’s vehicle.
While in custody, North also damaged State Police property.
North was charged with DWAI – Drugs, Fleeing an officer in a motor vehicle in the 3rd degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree, Criminal Mischief 4th degree and Harassment 2nd along with other Vehicle and Traffic violations.
She was arraigned in the Town of Granby Court where she was remanded on $2,500 cash bail to the Oswego County Jail.
She is due back in the Town of Granby Court on Sept. 10.
