Trio Injured After Being Ejected From Pickup Truck Bed In Schroeppel Crash

SCHROEPPEL, NY – Three people riding in the bed of a pickup truck were injured Monday night.

According to the sheriff’s office, at 10:55 p.m., Jedidiah A.C. Chesbro, 32, of 363 County Route 54 Pennellville, was arrested following a personal injury MVA on County Route 12 in the town of Schroeppel.

He’s charged with DWI; operating a motor vehicle with BAC .08 of 1%; failure to stop at a stop sign and imprudent speed.

The accident reportedly occurred  as the 2007 Chevrolet pickup he was operating was traveling east on County Route 12 and failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection with CR 10 then failed to negotiate the curve causing him to lose control and strike a utility pole before rolling several times and come to rest on the left side facing east.

Passengers in the vehicle, Christopher L. Larson, 26; Erika L. Ruple, 23 and Jordan K. Siravolo, 16, were all ejected as they were riding in the bed of the truck with no seats or safety belts, deputies said.

Nick J. Larson, 28, was riding in the cab of the vehicle.

All were all transported by ambulance to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse.

Chesbro is scheduled to appear in the Town of Schroeppel Court on April 11 to answer the charges.
