Trio of Laker women’s soccer players honored

CORTLAND, N.Y. – Oswego State women’s soccer players, Bri Dolan (So., Fayetteville, N.Y.), Nikki Liadka (Jr., Liverpool N.Y.) and Shelly Bateman (Sr., Fulton, N.Y.), were named to the 2012 SUNYAC All-Conference teams as released by SUNY Athletic Conference Commissioner Azure Davey on Thursday.

Dolan was named to the First Team, while Liadka and Bateman were named to the Second and Third Teams, respectively, for the third time each.

Dolan was fifth on the team in scoring with eight points on three goals, including one game-winning score against St. Joseph’s (L.I.) and two assists. In conference play, Dolan registered two points on one goal against Plattsburgh. She is the first Laker women’s soccer player to be named First Team All-SUNYAC since Kathryn Stead was selected in 2002.

Liadka led the Lakers in scoring for the third straight season with eight goals and two assists for 18 points. She had three game-winning goals, including one in overtime against Cortland. In league play, Liadka posted five goals for ten points. She currently sits in sixth place on the career points list with 76 points (33 goals, five assists).

Bateman was third on the squad in scoring with three goals and three assists. She finished her career fifth in all-time points with 79 on 31 goals, which ranks fifth all-time, and 17 assists. Bateman was previously named Third Team All-SUNYAC in 2009 and 2011.

Oswego State finished the season at 7-9-0 overall and 3-6-0 in SUNYAC play.
