Triple D – Derby, Down and Dirty! Schedule Announced

OSWEGO –This unique roller derby event, the Second Annual Women’s Flat Track Roller Derby Tournament in Oswego, is to be held at the Crisafulli Ice Arena in Historic Fort Ontario this weekend (July 28-29).

Triple-D Derby, Down and Dirty is a two-day Flat Track Roller Derby extravaganza in which derby skaters meet, compete and vie to be the Queen’s of Triple D.

This year, Triple-D and the Oz Revolution are hosting the states of Pennsylvania, New Hampshire and New York and will feature the Black Mamba Junior league (ages 7 – 17) of Syracuse.  A brand new derby rule set, USARS will be introduced with a demonstration bout at 11:45 a.m. on Sunday.

USARS features a fast-paced bout with fewer penalties and a lot of action!

Friday night features a Home Coming Dance and party at Woodchuck’s Tavern on East Ninth and Mitchell streets at 9 p.m., when the “Queen” of Triple D will be crowned.

Saturday starts off at 10 a.m. with the first bout: Poison Pixies of NH take on the Dirty Trixx of PA and at 11 a.m. watch home team Triple Delicious v. Albeonta (Albany & Oneonta combined teams).

The Black Mamba Junior League will play in between each tournament bout starting at noon on Saturday.

On Sunday, the action resumes with the championship bouts starting at 10 a.m.

All bouts are free to the public and ask only for a donation of any amount in lieu of a ticket price.  Oz Revolution will be hosting the tournament for 2012. Oz Revolution is the latest derby team creation from the founders of the Oz Roller Girls and the Triple D tournament.
