Oswego, NY – State Police in Fulton are investigating a four-vehicle crash, that occurred shortly before 10:30 a.m. Jan. 3, involving a marked State Police patrol car, on State Route 104 in the Town of Oswego.
Trooper Michael Ruckdaschel, 31, was parked on the southbound (west) shoulder in a marked New York State Police 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe assisting a disabled vehicle.
A 1999 Buick, operated by Grant M. Davis, 23, from 35 Highmore Drive in Oswego, was southbound on State Route 104, and struck a 2007 Dodge sedan, driven by Christopher A. Hughes, 43, from 29 South Jefferson Street in Mexico, in the rear, causing it to strike the trooper’s vehicle.
The Hughes vehicle then careened into the northbound lane where it side swiped a 1995 Ford, driven by Christopher J. Soper, 30, from 99 Crandall Road in Hannibal, resulting in both vehicles coming to rest in the northbound (east) ditch.
Trooper Ruckdaschel was treated at Oswego Hospital for neck and back pain and released.
Injuries to other involved parties are minor complaints of pain with all subjects treated and released, police said.
The investigation is continuing.
