State Police in Lysander are investigating a 3-car crash that occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 12, at the intersection of John Glenn Blvd. and Buckley Road in the town of Clay.
The investigation revealed that a 2011 Hyundai, operated by Bill W. Kile, age 31, from Liverpool, was traveling eastbound on John Glenn Blvd. at a high rate of speed when he allegedly failed to stop for the red light at the intersection with Buckley Road.
Kile continued through the intersection and struck a 2002 Chrysler, operated by Matthew E. Hallenbeck, age 44, from Liverpool, which causes Hallenbeck to strike a 2007 Jeep, operated by Steven M. Garrett, age 43, from Cleveland.
Kile was transported by ambulance to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse for minor injuries.
Matthew Hallenbeck was transported by ambulance to Upstate Medical Center for minor injuries.
A passenger in the Garrett vehicle, Taylor L. Garrett, age 19, was transported by ambulance to Upstate Medical Center for minor injuries.
Bill W. Kile was subsequently arrested at the hospital for DWAI- Drugs, an unclassified misdemeanor and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree, a class “A” misdemeanor.
He was issued an appearance ticket for the Town of Clay Court and is scheduled to appear on September 22, 2015 at 5:00pm.
