Troopers Investigate Double-Fatal One-Car Crash in Parish


On November 5, at 11:30 p.m., the New York State Police in Pulaski were dispatched to a report of a motor vehicle collision on I-81 Northbound in the vicinity of mile marker 115 in the town of Parish.

The investigation revealed that Michael J. Lopresti, 27, from Phillipsburg, NJ, was operating a 1994 Ford northbound on Interstate 81 when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle veered off the roadway and struck a tree.

Lopresti along with his passenger, Cecilia M. Phillips, 23, from Washington, NJ, were pronounced deceased at the scene.

The New York State Police were assisted at the scene by the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office, Parish Volunteer Fire Department and McFee Ambulance.

The Phillipsburg Police Department (NJ), Easton Police Department (Pa) and Washington Police Department (NJ) also assisted with this investigation.

The investigation regarding the cause of the collision is ongoing.
