OSWEGO, NY – More than 20 local bands and musicians will perform on December 17 from 6-11 p.m. at The American Foundry, 246 W. Seneca St., for an all-star evening of live music to benefit the toy drive for Toys for Tots of Oswego County.
Entry to the event is free, with each donated new toy. For each toy that is donated you’ll receive a raffle ticket for a wide variety of prizes that will be entered to win.
The grand prize drawing is an Orlando getaway gift package.
People are asked to bring a new, unwrapped, non-violent toy for boys and girls up to age 15.
According to event organizer Michael Coon, the “Cooney’s Tunes for Tots” event has been a success in the past, but he really wanted to make this year’s concert the biggest yet.
“The new venue at the American Foundry will be a great setting for Tunes for Tots,” Coon said. “I have been working with local musicians Mike Place and Jim Eckert, and Toys for Tots coordinator Chris Jones on the event, and with more than 20 local bands and musicians slated to perform, it is going to be an amazing night. We would love to set a new record for the most toys raised by a single event and have set 1,000 toys for the community, as this year’s goal.”
The event which is being hosted by Coon and Place, will include performances by the following bands and musicians:
Walking Wounded (Mike Place, Dave McKinney and Tino Sandinista), Off the Reservation (Mike Place, Tiger, Dave Wolever, Eric Wilson and Nick Reitz), Frequency (Elle Heart, John Wilson, Ron Spereno, Paul Endres and Jim Eckert), Grand Royal (John Walker, David James, Colin Isca, Jerritt Warhendorf, Chris Dixon, John Shambo and John Shanley), Dirtroad Ruckus (Eric Detota, Tom Fava, Scott Sheridan, Kenny Duquette and Jack Chappell), Loose Cannon (Sean Beckwith, Mark Weigalt, Paris Hanson, Ted Snyder and Tim Snyder), JP Shaggy (Jason Krueger, Barry Westfall and George Lynch), PEP (Kent Proctor, Konni Moller, Joe Goss, Tim Breezee and Donnie Martell), and F5 (Jay Learo, Donny Beshures, Dave Burritt and Matt McGriff).
Additional performances will include: Chris Duchovny, Dave Hawthorne, John McConnell, John Luber, Tommy Ciappa, Anna Lopez-White, Darryl Hunt, Matt Sanderson and Jim Yeager.
Food and beverages will also be available.
According to Coon, the community support for the raffle donations and prizes has been considerable.
The Orlando getaway gift package is valued at more than $2,500 and includes a seven-day/six-night stay at a Wyndham Resort with gift certificates to a variety of Orlando’s hot spots and restaurants including: B.B.
