OSWEGO, NY – At 12:45 a.m. today (June 9), Oswego Fire Department crews were dispatched to a two-car motor vehicle collision on State Route 481 near the intersection of Woodridge Terrace.
OFD Deputy Chief Dave Engle reported that the two vehicles were involved in a head-on collision and two people were injured in the accident.
One of the injured was trapped and pinned between the seat and the dashboard.
Due to the nature of entrapment and subsequent injuries, it took approximately 40 minutes to extricate the trapped victim.
The other injured party was found on the ground by OFD personnel when they arrived on the scene.
According to fire officials, both patients were treated at the scene and transported to University Hospital in Syracuse by the Oswego Fire Department and Menter Ambulance.
Their injuries are thought to be non-life threatening.
The road was closed down for several hours as the Oswego Police Department conducted an investigation of the incident.
