Two-Car Crash In Sterling Claims Life

STERLING – Sheriff David Gould reports that the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a two-car fatal motor vehicle accident on NYS Route 104 at Coleman Road in the town of Sterling.

At about 9:51 a.m. today (January 2), an eastbound 2001 Ford Taurus wagon operated by Wilner Moleon, 52, of Red Creek, lost control and spun into the path of a westbound 2013 Subaru Outback operated by Jane Holliday, 83, of Oswego.

Moleon was transported to University Hospital in Syracuse, where he died of his injuries, deputies said.

Holliday and a male passenger were transported to Oswego Hospital for minor injuries, according to the report.

Investigation is continuing into the cause of the accident.

Assisting were the Cayuga County 911 Center, New York State Police, New York State Park Police, Fair Haven Fire Department, Red Creek Fire Department, Fair Haven Ambulance, Mentor Ambulance.
