The men dropped the items and ran into the woods.

More officers arrived and caught the men after a brief running chase.

The third man was, police believe, not criminally involved in the incident and was released.

Police picked up the dropped items, which included a set of golf clubs and a laptop computer.

The car had been reported stolen in Syracuse on Monday.  The car’s undercarriage was damaged in the crash and the car’s airbags inflated.

Edmond and Williams were charged with criminal possession of stolen property.  Williams was also charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance because police allege they found some crack cocaine on him.
