OSWEGO, NY – During the afternoon hours of Thursday, the Oswego County Drug Task Force conducted an operation which targeted street level narcotic dealers within the city of Oswego.
At approximately 5 p.m., a stop of a vehicle suspected of being associated with the illegal possession and sales of crack cocaine occurred at East Fourth Street near East Oneida Street.
The four occupants of the vehicle were detained and search warrants were applied for through Oswego City Court.
Search warrants were issued by the court and pursuant to their execution investigators recovered and seized a total of 12.5 grams of crack cocaine, having an estimated street value of $1,250, according to police.
Three occupants of the vehicle were arrested and criminally charged as follows:
Omar I. Bellamy, 30, of 1114 W. Colvin St., Syracuse – Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree, intent to sell – Class B Felony;
Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 4th degree – Class C Felony.
Demetrius T. Williams, 27, of 203 Otisco St. Syracuse – Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree, intent to sell – Class B Felony; Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 4th degree – Class C Felony.
Samantha A. Perez, 24, of 49 E, Ninth St. Apartment #3, Oswego – Conspiracy in the 4th Degree – Class E Felony; Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree- Class A Misdemeanor.
Bellamy and Williams were arraigned in Oswego City Court.
Bellamy was remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility with no bail.
Williams was remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bail bond.
Both have return court dates of February 10 at 9:30 a.m.
Perez was released on an appearance ticket returnable to Oswego City Court on February 19 at 9:30 a.m.
