Calling artists and writers with disabilities! ARISE has a UNIQUE opportunity for you. Any person living in Central New York who is at least 8 years of age and has a disability is encouraged to submit creative work to be considered for publication in the 2011 edition of UNIQUE, an annual art and literary magazine.
Last year over 50 artists and writers were featured, and this year one of those artists could be you! UNIQUE welcomes submissions starting immediately and ending May 6th 2011. Artistic and literary works from previous years have been showcased in community hubs such as the Delavan Art Center, SUNY Upstate Medical University Health Sciences Library, King & King Architects and at the ARISE Oswego office.
Visual works in almost any media, including but not limited to paintings, drawings, photographs, sculptures, computer-generated art and mixed media works, will be accepted in their original format. Literary submissions must be a hard copy and are limited to 450 words or fewer.
Artists may drop off or send their creative piece, with their name and phone number on the back, as well as their Submission and Consent Forms to ARISE at: UNIQUE Magazine c/o ARISE 635 James Street Syracuse, NY 13203 or to the Oswego Office, 9 Fourth Ave, Oswego. Submissions may be dropped off between 9 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
