United Way Golf Tournament a Success

OSWEGO, NY – A field of 47 teams took to the links for a day of golf and fun in the 18th Annual United Way Golf Tournament, held recently at the Oswego Country Club.

The Addecco / Canale Insurance team shot a 61, and won a tiebreaker, to capture first place in the first flight of the United Way of Greater Oswego County’s Annual Golf Tournament held recently at the Oswego Country Club. This year’s event featured two compete tournaments: a morning flight and an afternoon flight.

In the morning flight, The Addecco / Canale Insurance team and HRW Construction and French Construction each carded scores of 61.

The Addecco / Canale Insurance team captured first place on a tiebreaker.

Top individual performers in the first flight were: Closest to the pin: hole 4, Tom Rollin; hole 18 Dan Sova; and Deana Masuicca, on hole 4 and 18.  Longest drive on hole 1, Mike Cazzoli and Kelly Wells.

The team from Constellation Energy Nuclear Group won the putting contest.

The Perry Noun/Mark Larson Team won the afternoon flight with an impressive score of 55.

Top individual performers in the second flight included: Nancy Patka, closest to the pin on holes 4 and 18; Perry Noun III, closest to the pin on hole 4; and R. Campbell closest to the pin on hole 18.  Longest drive on hole 1, Ryan Stone and Diane Wavle.

The Port of Oswego Authority #2 team won the putting contest.

“The new format was very successful,” said resource development director Lois Luber. “Everyone had a great time and the money raised will do much to help the many human service programs that United Way helps fund. “I extend a sincere thank you to our major sponsors; National Grid, CENG, Entergy, Planned Results, Inc. as well as the many other businesses, organizations and individuals who assisted us with the financial underwriting of the tournament. I also appreciate the hard work and dedication of the golf committee and our many volunteers who gave of their time and talents to help make the event enjoyable for everyone involved. Their efforts played a major role in the success of our golf tournament.”
