UPDATE: Charges Filed In Sept. 13 Crash, Fire

OSWEGO – On Thursday (October 11), at 9:34 p.m., sheriff’s deputies arrested Ronald C. Canfield Jr., 30, of 290 W. Seventh St., Apt. A, Oswego.

He was charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, 4th degree, a class E felony; Reckless Driving, 2nd degree, a class A misdemeanor; AUO, 2nd degree; three counts of Criminal Mischief, 4th degree, a class A misdemeanor; Fleeing Officer in MV, 3rd degree, a class A misdemeanor; Reckless Driving; No License; Speeding; four counts of Failure to Stop at STOP Sign and Driving too Left of Pavement Markings stemming from the investigation into an incident that occurred on September 13.

Car Crash Results in Volney House Fire

He was allegedly observed operating a stolen vehicle out of the city of Oswego in the city of Fulton that led to a police pursuit and the vehicle colliding with another vehicle then a residence, catching the vehicle and residence on fire.

Canfield was arraigned in the Town of Volney Court and remanded back to the Oswego County Jail on $2,500/$5,000 bail, where he is a resident on separate charges.

He is scheduled to reappear on October 15.

At the same time, Canfield was arrested for Petit Larceny, a class A misdemeanor following the investigation into an incident in which he allegedly stole consumable goods from a business in the town of Volney.

He is scheduled to return to the Town of Volney Court on October 15.
