US NAVY VFA – 106 F – 18 SUPER HORNET TAC DEMO NOW PERFORMING AT THE SYRACUSE AIR SHOW TO HONOR FALLEN BLUE ANGEL PILOT

Syracuse, New York – The Syracuse Air Show received a call from the US NAVY today offering the F-18
Super Hornet to be part of the Syracuse Air Show, June 10 and 11.

The Navy’s has offered to support this air show with their Tactical Demonstration Teams during the time slot of the scheduled Blue Angels
performance. The Tactical Demonstration or “TACDEMO” is designed to highlight the mobility, versatility and power of the F/A-18 Hornet and Super Hornet for the citizens who look to the Navy for the defense of freedom.
“The F-18 will put on a complete tactical demonstration in the skies over Syracuse. The entire air show community, both civilian and military has stepped up for the show to honor Blue Angel Number 6, Lt Jeff Kuss who was lost in a tragic accident last week in Tennessee.

The F/A-18E/F Super Hornet is the U.S. Navy’s primary strike and air superiority aircraft. It is an updated version of the F-18C/D, featuring a 20 percent larger airframe, 7,000 lb heavier empty weight, and 15,000lb heavier maximum weight than the original Hornet. The Super Hornet carries 33 percent more internal fuel, increasing mission range by 41 percent and endurance by 50 percent over the earlier Hornet. In addition,the show features the US Air Force F-16 Heritage Flight, US Army Golden Knights, and the Geico Skytypers.

Included in the flying schedule are also renowned civilian air show performers,  AirShow Hall of Famer Gene Soucy with wing walker Teresa Stokes, Kent Pietsch with the Jelly Belly Interstate Cadet, Scott Yoak will put his P-51D Quick Silver through its paces, the B-25 “Panchito”, and you’ll see one of the aircraft race against a motorcycle, and the Lima Lima Flight Team.There is also a great line-up of statics to look at including the A-37 Dragonfly, the C-17 Globemaster, T-6A Texan, MH-53E Sea Dragon helicopter, Civil Air Patrol Cessna 182, LC-130 Hercules (on skis), the T-45 Goshawk, and the KC-10 Extender.
