Vehicle Stop Leads To Drug Arrests in Fulton

Fulton police stopped a vehicle whose driver was unlicensed.  Not long after, police made a significant drug selling arrest.

Police allege that Justin M. Smith, 30, of Syracuse, sold cocaine to an undercover State Troopeer on March 6, March 31 and April 8.

Fast forward to Friday, when a Fulton PD officer spotted Smith’s vehicle in the city.  Police allege the officer “had information that …Smith was unlicensed.”

During the traffic stop, the officer allegedly found 14.2 grams of cocaine, some marijuana and some hydrocodone tablets.

Smith was charged with two felony and one misdemeanor counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor count of using drug paraphernalia, misdemeanor aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and violation counts of marijuana possession and unlicensed operator.

On top of that, they threw in three felony counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance for the alleged sales to the Trooper in March and April.

Fulton Police operate a tip line for information on drug possession and sales, at 593-TIPS (8477).
