FULTON – Bill Canole, a spokesman for the CNY Veterans Recognition Commission, spoke to the Fulton Noon Rotary Club about the upcoming Veterans’ Day Dinner.
It will be held Nov. 9 from 6 to 9:30 p.m. in the ballroom at the Marriott Syracuse Downtown.
The annual dinner serves as a major fundraiser for both the Honor Flight and Clear Path for Veterans programs.
The Honor Flight takes veterans on a special flight to Washington, D.C., where they are greeted by an adoring crowd, to visit the national memorial sites that honor their sacrifices.
This year’s flight from Syracuse includes 86 vets, including our own Dick Kemmis.
Clear Path for Veterans works with younger veterans who return home and need help re-integrating back into the workforce and normal life.
Dr. Mike Henry of Syracuse University will be the keynote speaker at this year’s dinner.
Last year’s dinner speaker was Fulton’s own, Father Moritz Fuchs, who served in World War II and is a past Honor Flight participant.
