Virginia Ross

Virginia Ross, 80, of Oswego, died peacefully Monday morning at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born in Oswego the daughter of the late John and Onofria Palmesono. Mrs. Ross worked at the Marathon Co., prior to becoming a teacher’s aide for fifteen years with the Oswego School District. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Golden Age Group. Mrs. Ross enjoyed bicycling, bowling, traveling and refinishing antiques.

She is survived by her husband of sixty-one years John Raymond Ross of Oswego, daughter Kathleen (Jerry) Brown of Oswego, son Steven (Susan) Ross of Oswego, sister Katherine (Sam) Sugar of Oswego, three grandchildren Michael, Brittany, and Kelsey, and her nieces and nephews. Mrs. Ross was predeceased by her brother Angelo Palmesono, and sisters Rose Pilotta, and Josephine Sansone.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday 8:30 a.m. from the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home, and 9:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Church. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home 147 West Fourth Street, Oswego.

The family request contributions be made to Friends of Oswego County Hospice, PO Box 102 Oswego NY.

    I am very sorry to hear about Verg…growing up she was always smiling and happy whenever I would visit my Aunt Anna Manfre…May time and memories heal your hearts…She will be missed by all..
