MINETTO – On Saturday (April 22), with Canal Clean Sweep and Oswego County Earth Week occurring together, volunteers from the Minetto Beautification Committee with several other volunteers participated in a litter cleanup along the Oswego River and opposite dugway pond.

Several others were working at the River View Park prepping for spring plantings.

On Sunday (April 23), recognizing Oswego County Earth Week and Canal Clean Sweep, volunteers worked on two projects at Great Bear Springs Recreation Area to maintain and enhance the area.

The first project, volunteers worked on the tow path repairing a muddy section.

The muddy sections were scarfed to remove soft mud.

A gutter and drainage were put in with natural crusher stone laid out over the trail section.

The second project entailed several locations where native wildflower seeds were sowed in.

Being wildflowers, some of the flowers may take a second season to grow and bloom.
