Wells blanks Oswego State men’s soccer team

OSWEGO, NY – The Oswego State men’s soccer team lost a 1-0 contest against Wells College on Wednesday afternoon, falling to 1-5-1 on the season.
Despite the tough loss at home, Oswego outshot the Express 25-9.

Harrison Rieber led the team with four shots while teammate Zack Saccocio chipped in with three.

Tyler Morris scored the lone goal for Wells at 15:33 when teammate Charles Naula sent a corner kick to the top of the box. Morris got a clean foot on the ball midflight and knocked it just over Laker goalie Cody Peck’s outstretched right hand.

Oswego nearly knotted the game in the second half when forward Nick Zingaro took a shot that flirted with the goal line. The Lakers could not catch a break as an Express defender hurried to the ball and slid for a kick save that ricocheted off the post and back into play.

Men’s soccer will return to the pitch and open SUNYAC action at 4 p.m. on Sept. 26 on the road at Oneonta.
