OSWEGO, NY – Wesley R. Proctor Jr., 62, a resident of Scriba, passed away Tuesday April 3, 2012, at his home, after a short battle with Leukemia.
Born in Goffstown, New Hampshire, he was the son of the late Wesley R. Proctor Sr. and Eloise (Betz) Proctor.
He received his Bachelor’s of Science from Oswego State in 1972.
Wes was employed at the James A. FitzPatrick power plant in the management staff for more than 28 years, retiring in December of 2007.
He was a member of the Alumni Association of Sigma Tau Chi, where he volunteered many hours of work at the house and enjoyed the million dollar view of Lake Ontario.
Surviving are his wife, Deborah (Baker) Proctor of 32 years; his son, John David (Christine) Proctor of Oswego; a grandson, Issaiah Wesley Proctor; his daughter, Stefanie Proctor of Chesapeake, Va.; three sisters, Beverly Boyer of Delaware, Nancy Greenleaf of Maine and Betsey Nidecker of Louisiana; and their extended family of nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Peter Proctor; and a sister, Ann Rice.
Calling hours will be held 3-7 p.m. May 4 at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany St., Oswego.
A celebration of Wes’ life and mass will be held 10 a.m. May 5 at St. Peter’s Church, 83 E. Albany St., Oswego.
