OSWEGO, NY – A West Monroe man is behind bars, charged with raping a child, deputies report.
On Tuesday (Aug. 18) at 3:29 p.m., Andrew Lewis Gaurin, 26, of 1580 SR 69, Lot 10, West Monroe, was arrested for two counts of first-degree criminal sex act, a class B felony; first-degree rape, a class B felony; three counts of predatory assault against a child, a class A felony and endangering the welfare of a child.
The arrest stems from the investigation into an incident that occurred on August 14 or 15 in the town of Parish.
He allegedly engaged in sexual intercourse and oral sexual conduct with the victim being less than 11 years of age.
Gaurin was arraigned in the Town of Parish Court by Hon. Judge Dayger.
He was remanded to the Oswego County Jail, held without bail.
He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Parish Court on Aug. 25.
