“Sew You Can” for kids ages 6 to 8 will kick off on October 5 from 1 to 2 p.m. followed by a separate class for 9 to 12 year olds from 2:30 to 4 p.m. This exciting new class will bring back an old art form on the heels of National Sewing Month and teach children how to use a sewing machine, learn basic stitches, and make a complete project.
Students will receive certification and a patch upon completing the training and then be eligible to participate in Holiday Sewing Classes scheduled for late October and for Christmas giving. Skill levels will increase as students practice on sewing machines at the Arts Center and materials are provided for fun theme-related projects.
