OSWEGO, NY – Now through December 3, the whimsical creations of Eileen Belaska Sprague are on display in the lowest level (L2) of the Oswego Public Library.
Eileen joined the library staff in 2001 as a library aide.
She prepares library materials, such as books, DVDs and books on tape in order that they may be made available for patrons to borrow.
Eileen also repairs these materials when they need some TLC!
You may be surprised to know that she was a member of the USAF early in her career.
The library has enjoyed many of Eileen’s talents.
She is not only an accomplished artist, as this display proves, but she also decorates the library for the many holidays we all enjoy.
She is very generous with sharing some of her crafts.
She has knitted scores of baby hats for the nursery at Oswego Hospital and has mailed handmade woolen hats for our troops overseas along with supplies they could use through a pen pal exchange program.
These few things mentioned only scratch the surface of this generous lady… many of these paintings may look familiar because she donated most of them for the Children’s Room here.
Please feel free to look at more of her artwork that graces the walls there.
