‘Who Killed Carolee’ Set For Halloween Release

The book Who Killed Carolee? will be released October 31 at a book signing to be held at rivers end bookstore, 19 W. Bridge St., Oswego, beginning at 6 p.m.

The book release is in conjunction with the 45th anniversary of the hit-and-run death of Carolee Sadie Ashby.

The four-year-old girl was walking with her sister, Darlene, to buy candles for Darlene’s birthday cake when she was struck and left in the road to die on the evening of Halloween 1968.

The driver of the car, Douglas Parkhurst, confessed earlier this year.

The book was written by local journalist Carol Thompson, who will be on hand to sign books as well as Russ Johnson, the former retired Fulton police investigator who played a large role in solving the cold case.

Members of the Ashby family will also be present.

Refreshments will be served and candy will be available for children.

The event is free and open to the public.
