OSWEGO, NY – Wilfred D. “Bill” Perras, 86, a resident of Lincoln Ave., passed away on Monday Oct. 24, 2011, at his home.
Born in Piercefield, NY, he was the son of the late David and Dora (Caron) Perras and graduated from schools in Saranac Lake.
He was employed with the Faichhney Instrument in Watertown and the Florida Instrument in Florida for 20 years.
Mr. Perras was a veteran of the United States Coast Guard serving from 1943-46.
He was a member of the Leatherstocking Club and the National Rifle Association.
Surviving are his wife of 65 years, the former Evelyn Benney; one daughter, Mary (Steve) Pierce of Oswego; four sons, David (Patricia) Perras of Pennslyvania, Larry (Teresa) Perras of New Haven, Stephen (Kim) Perras of Florida and Thomas (Linda) Perras of Whitesboro; a sister, Geneva Courtney of Saranac Lake; 13 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by three grandchildren, Lisa, John and Steve; and one great grandchild, Angelina.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at noon from St. Paul’s Church.
Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
