OSWEGO, NY – William C. Beshures, 71, a resident of 316 E. Second St., passed away on Sunday May 22, 2011, at his home.
Born in Hannibal, he was a son of the late George and Sophia (Wadas) Beshures and was a graduate of Oswego High School.
Mr. Beshures was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving for more than 20 years.
He was employed with Miller’s Brewery for eight years and later retired as the head mechanic from St. Peter’s Cemetery.
He was a member of the VFW #5885 and the American Legion #268.
William was an avid bowler who loved archery and hunting.
He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, the former Lois Engle; two daughters, Terri (James) DeBiase of Oswego and Marie Beshures of Ithaca; three sons, William (Mary Beth) Beshures Jr. of Webster, James Beshures of Baldwinsville and Dennis Beshures of Liverpool; two sisters, Fay M. Axtell of Fulton and Helen (Robert) Colasanti of Kentucky; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Edgar and George Beshures.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. from the Oswego Center Methodist Church.
Burial will be in Fairdale Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Oswego Center Methodist Church on Wednesday from 9:30 – 11 a.m. prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Oswego Center Methodist Church or Oswego County Hospice.
