William E. Miller, 73

FULTON, NY – William E. Miller, 73, of Oswego, passed away Friday November 1, 2013, at home with his family by his side.

He was born in Syracuse, a son to the late Ernest E. and Lillian Cluse Miller.

Bill lived in Fulton for several years before moving to Oswego 13 years ago.

He took over the family business, Fulton Typewriter Store (FTS, Inc.) and operated it for more than 55 years.

In that time, Bill grew FTS, Inc. from a small storefront business to encompass all business supplies and services.

He loved music, playing bass guitar and singing.

Bill enjoyed playing tennis, racquetball, loved SU sports, and traveling during the winter months.

His most cherished time was spent entertaining his grandchildren and having them entertain him.

He was predeceased by his sister, Patricia Bevacqua; nieces, Christine Colucci and Cheryl Hanzlian.

Bill is survived by his wife of 51 years, Joan Gault Miller;  his children, Timothy (Marie) Miller, Wendy (Chris) Sachel both of Fulton and William M. Miller of Oswego; four grandchildren, Seth Miller, Samantha Miller, Hayden Sachel and Sydney Sachel.

Bill is also survived by his nephews, John, David and Gary Bevacqua as well as several cousins.

Calling hours will be held 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, November 8, at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay St., Fulton.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 9, at Fulton First United Methodist Church, 1408 State Route 176, Fulton.

  1. My heart goes out to all of you. There are no words that can take away the sadness you feel. Just know that I am thinking of you all. I have some fun memories of your dad/husband.
