MANNSVILLE, NY – It’s been a long cold winter so far, but conditions are the best we have had in the last 10 years for this weekend’s event.
There’s plenty happening in snow sports in Winona and a record number of people are taking part.
Considered a premiere event in upstate NY, the 35th Winona Forest Tourathon, which takes place this Saturday, is an annual event but only one of many that are being held in Winona Forest this season.
The Winona Forest Recreation Association said people are traveling from as far away as New Mexico, Canada, Pennsylvania, Maryland and other New England states to take part in this long-standing tradition in Winona Forest.
Date: February 28
Time: 8 a.m.
Place: CCC Camp, County Route 90, east of Mannsville
The Winona Forest Tourathon is always a very high-paced, exciting fundraising event which proceeds benefit WFRA ski trail maintenance and grooming efforts.
Registration closes Feb. 25 at 5 p.m. www.skireg.com/3729.
