PHOENIX – Keith Conroy will give the first of two presentations at the Phoenix Public Library to benefit the Schroeppel Historical Society on April 23 at 6 p.m.
In “Wireless Aboard the Titanic,” Conroy will describe the sinking of the Titanic from the perspective of the wireless Morse code radio operators.
Conroy will include pictures of the Titanic and Carpathia and the distress signals received, as well as a very emotional account of the tragedy as told by one of the wireless operators.
A model of the Titanic will be shown highlighting exact locations on the ship.
Reservations are required due to limited seating at the library. Call Kay at 315-668-7182.
A $5 admission charge will be collected at the door from those with reservations.
All proceeds will go to the Schroeppel Historical Society capital fund for vital repairs.
