Tresidder’s first tour was aboard the USS McFAUL, DDG 74 out of Norfolk VA as an undesignated deck hand. While aboard the McFaul Tresidder received a commendation from his commanding officer to recognize his distinctive accomplishments while on deployment. Tresidder qualified for Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist while performing his duties as one of McFaul’s most trusted Helmsman. During Tresidder’s service on the McFaul the destroyer was the first to reach Georgia’s Black Sea Port Batumi with humanitarian aid after the invasion of Russian forces.
Upon return from the 6 month deployment aboard the McFAUL, additional training and several career development boards, Tresidder was approved to cross rate to Cryptologic Technician Networks, and attend training in Pensacola FL. In May 2009 Tresidder was advanced from Seaman to Petty Officer Third Class. Seven months later, he was advanced again to Petty Officer Second Class and made the decision to commit to 6 more years of service with the US Navy.
Tresidder is a graduate of Oswego High School and the son of Amy and Ernie Tresidder of Oswego.
