OSWEGO COUNTY, NY – Oswego County Sheriff Reuel A. Todd has announced that four Young Snowmobile Operator Safety Courses will be held in December.
New York State Law requires that youths ages 10 through 17 must successfully complete a two day Young Snowmobile Operator Safety Course and be in possession of a Safety Certificate before they can legally operate a snowmobile alone off their own property.
Four courses will be at the Oswego County Public Safety Center, 39 Churchill Road, Oswego as follows:
- December 6, 2008, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and December 7, 2008, noon to 4 p.m.
- December 13, 2008, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and December 14, 2008, noon to 4 p.m.
- December 20, 2008, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and December 21, 2008, noon to 4 p.m.
- December 27, 2008, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and December 28, 2008, noon to 4 p.m.
There is no charge for the training. A parent or guardian must accompany students to the classroom on the first day of the course to sign a parental permission form. Students must attend both days of their chosen training course to complete the program.
