OSWEGO, NY – The Oswego Chapter of Zonta International, a professional women’s organization, recently contributed $1,900 towards the purchase of furniture for the newly renovated and expanded Oswego Public Library.

“We’re all very excited about the new Oswego Public Library and what it means to this community,” said Beverly Mulcahey, president of the Oswego Chapter of Zonta. “Zonta is a strong advocate of this community, and we’re pleased to be able to support the Library and their wonderful project.”

Gathered recently at one of the new tables that was provided by Zonta through their generous donation are standing from left: Martha Lyon, librarian; Cleane Medeiros, Zonta board member; Mulcahey; and Roxanna Gillen, Zonta past president.

Sitting from left are: Kristine Bushey, Zonta past president; Gail Goebricher, Zonta member; and Larry Mayo, Oswego Public Library trustee.

According to Mayo, the new furniture is being used in the new Children’s section of the library, and the upper level of the new addition.

“We’re truly grateful for the support of this community and the many civic-minded organizations like Zonta,” Mayo said. “The success of this project was made possible in part through the broad reaching support of this community, and our many regional service groups that have made contributions. We can’t say thank you enough.”
