Riley Sixth Grades Celebrate Success

OSWEGO, NY – The Charles E. Riley Elementary School sixth grade honors assembly provided the opportunity to recognize those students moving on to the Oswego Middle School while at the same time congratulating them for their academic effort.

Along with the presentation of certificates were several individual awards including the “Principal’s American Citizenship Award” presented by CER Principal Dr. Linda Doty to Zoey Devoid.

The Charles E. Riley Elementary School recently conducted its sixth grade ceremonies and Alexa Quesnell and Jenna Bradshaw received the “Triple C” Award from Principal Dr. Linda Doty while Zoey Devoid earned the “Principal’s American Citizenship Award.”

Doty also presented this year’s Triple “C” Award from the state attorney general for “character, courage and commitment” to Alexa Quesnell and Jenna Bradshaw.

Several sixth graders were also recognized with the Presidential Awards for Excellence and received a certificate signed by President Barack Obama.

Those earning the excellence honors included  Jenna Bradshaw, Andrew Caprin, Zoey Devoid, Sophia Griffiths, Alyssa Lee, Sofia Proano, Matthew Taormina, Samuel Woods, Michaela Bradshaw, Lauren Devinny, Gabriel Fenzl, Derek Kohut, Justin Mull, Alexa Quesnell and Julianne Verceles.

Students receiving the “achievement” award included Joseph Alfieri, Sierra Buske, Lateisha Colon, Paige Hammond, Mya Kinder, Robert McCarthy, Kassidee Seeley, Lauren Bush, Sarah Casaletta, Nathaniel Gazda, Jarreau Hoskins, Lily Kingsley, Abigail Reith and Ryan Wood.

A large sixth grade class was recognized by Principal Doty as well as their teachers Eric McCrobie, Cindy Farnsworth and Kate McCrobie.

This year’s students advancing to the Oswego Middle School were Tanner Abare, Joseph Alfieri Jr., Jenna Bradshaw, Lauren Bush, Sarah Casaletta, Lauren Devinny, Nathaniel Gazda, Paige Hammond, Brianna Hoefer, Tanner Keville, Derek Kohut, Alyssa Lee, Justin Mull, Andrew Noyes, Cameron Peterson, Alexa Quesnell, Zackary Rousselle, Travis Sova, Chelsea Thurston, Tyler Wallace and Ryan Wood.

Also moving on were Jason Abbott, Lauren Beall, Michaela Bradshaw, Sierra Buske, Caleb Colloca, Zoey Devoid, Sophia Griffiths, Audrey Harrington, Jarreau Hoskins, Mya Kinder, Thomas Lagoe, Taylor Marshall, Emilee Munger, Julia Palmer, Jonathan Plyler, Marina Regan, Kassidee Seeley, Keyara Storrs, Julianne Verceles, Jacob Ward and Samuel Woods.

The remaining students being recognized: Brandon Addabbo, Richard Boni, Mason Bricker, Andrew Caprin, Lateisha Colon, Gabriel Fenzl, Kaiya Gulliver, Javiemary Hernandez, Dylan Johnson, Lily Kingsley, Austin Landphere, Robert McCarthy, Cody Murray, Derek Pascuzzi, Sofia Proano, Abigail Reith, Cameron Smith, Mathew Taormina, Mattie Wallace and Destiny Whitney.

Meanwhile, another highlight of the honors ceremony was the dedication of the yearbook to retiring school nurse Eileen Robinson.
