Fulton Underage Drinking Detail Makes One Arrest

FULTON, NY – On Friday (Oct. 29), the Fulton Police conducted an Underage Drinking Detail at ABC Licensed locations around the city of Fulton.

The detail was funded by a New York State grant which was obtained by the County of Oswego Council on Alcohol and Addiction (CoCoAA).

The purpose of the detail was to attempt to purchase alcohol through the use of underage agents (less than 21yoa) at the various licensed establishments throughout the city of Fulton.

Attempts were made to purchase alcohol at 16 establishments.

Of those locations, one arrest was made for the sale of alcohol to a person less than 21 years of age.

The person arrested was Rachel L. Belcher, 18, of 851 Forest Ave., Fulton (Strupplers).

She was charged with first-degree unlawfully dealing with a child, a Class A misdemeanor.

She is scheduled to appear in Fulton City Court on Nov. 18 at 9 a.m.

The Fulton Police Department would like to recognize those businesses and their employees where the sale of an alcoholic beverage to an underage agent was denied and in compliance with the requirements of the NYS Alcohol and Beverage Control Law.

They are as follows:

Price Chopper, Wilson Farms, Fastrac, Nice-n-Easy, Lakeview Lanes, Upper Landing, Fran’s Riverfront, Muskie’s, Red Brick Pub, Rite Aid (East Broadway), Rite Aid (State Route 481), Bob’s Liquors, Fulton Ale House, Byrne Dairy and Gorman’s.
