Minetto students host Renaissance Fair

MINETTO, NY – Minetto fifth graders recently wrapped up a unit on the Renaissance by hosting a Renaissance Fair with music, games and activities.

The fair included 10 different stations where the fifth graders showcased a particular activity or game made popular during the Renaissance. Teachers and peers gathered in the cafeteria to explore the stations and learn a bit about things such as Renaissance art, innovations, and lifestyle. Attendees had an opportunity to experience da Vinci writing, stained glass, catapults, calligraphy, and more!

“Our students spent several weeks studying the Renaissance movement,” said fifth grade teacher Stacie Roberts-Waterhouse. “They have learned where it took place, how it started, and who the famous people were of this time. The Renaissance Fair was an opportunity to highlight some interesting events that happened during the period of ‘Rebirth,’ and bring the lesson to a close. They did an amazing job showcasing what they learned in a fun way.”
