Gertrude Sliter, 94, 11/09/2007

FULTON, NY – Gertrude Sliter, 94 formerly of County Route 57, Fulton, died Friday Nov. 9, 2007, at Eden Park Nursing Home, Poughkeepsie, NY.

She was born in Oswego, NY, and she has been a resident of the Oswego and Fulton areas for most of her life.

Mrs. Sliter retired as co-owner of Cincotta Jewelers, Fulton.

She was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church.

Mrs. Sliter loved nature and animals especially her dog, “Minnie.”

Mrs. Sliter was predeceased by her husband, Harry Sliter, in 1980; and her sister, Eileen Cincotta, in 2004.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Dr. Frank Cincotta, Rev. Dr. Anthony Cincotta DO, Antonia (Peter) Bertolozzi; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Sasha (Ben) Zygmunt, Andrea Bertolozzi, Dr. Peter Bertolozzi, DO, and Tara (Luca) Collacciani; her great-great-nieces and nephews: Elisabeth and Noah Zygmunt, and Christiano Collacciani.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at the Sugar Funeral Home and 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church where a mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.

Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Oswego.

Calling hours will be held 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Sugar Funeral Home, 224 W. Second St. S., Fulton.

  1. Antonia I am so sorry to read of your Aunt Gert’s death. I remember way back as a little girl that she was in the Fanny Farmer store on Oneida Street and I used to stop there with my parents. That was way back before probably you and my sister Joan were born!!!!
