John F. Lill, 75

John F. Lill, 75, a resident of West Fifth St. Oswego, passed away August 31, 2008 at the Oswego Hospital.

Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late Henry and Dorothy (Schultzkie) Lill.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving during the Korean War.

John retired after 17 years from the Custodial Staff at Oswego State University. He also worked at Hammermill and O’Brien’s Lumber.

He was a member of the National Rifle Assoc., the N.Y. Rifle and Pistol Assoc., a life member of the V.F.W. Post 2320 and the 2nd Amendment foundation, Bellevue Wash.

Surviving are his niece, Denise Ruggio of Long Island; nephew, Joseph (Jean) Ruggio of Oswego; niece Mary Beato of Long Island; brother in law Alfred Ruggio of Long Island; many great nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his sister, Roberta Lill Ruggio in March of 2006.

Funeral Services will be held 9a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph’s Church. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.

Calling hours will be held 4-7p.m. Tuesday at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 West Albany St. Oswego.
