Henry W. Loomis, Jr., 73, of Lakeland, FL, formerly of Volney passed away Saturday, September 27, 2008.

Born in Lorraine, NY he lived most of his life in Volney.  Henry graduated from Fulton High School in 1953.  He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.  Henry was a school bus driver for many years with the Phoenix School District.  He retired as a forklift operator from Miller Brewery and Anheuser-Busch in 2003.  Henry was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Lakeland and a former member of the Fulton Moose Lodge 1280.  He could often be found riding around in his golf cart at Highland Village Senior Park in Lakeland and at the Hejamada Campgrounds in Montezuma where he was know as “The Mayor”.

Henry was predeceased by his parents, Henry W. Loomis, Sr. and Muriel Beyer Loomis.  He is survived by his wife, Sandra L. Loomis; three daughters, Kelly (James) Stoughtenger of Fulton, Leslie (William) Carroll of Oriskany and Dawn Loomis of Oswego; a brother, William Loomis of Austin, TX and six grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held 6 p.m. Thursday at Foster Funeral Home, 910 Fay Street, Fulton.  Contributions in memory of Henry may be made to the American Cancer Society, 6725 Lyons Street, P.O. Box 7, East Syracuse, NY, 13057.

    WE WERE SO SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT YOUR LOSS. WE, AND I AM SURE EVERYONE WHO CAME IN CONTACT WITH HENRY AND SAW HIM TRAVEL AROUND HIGHLAND VILLAGE IN HIS GOLF BUGGY, WILL MISS HIM. OUR PRAYERS GO OUT TO YOU . POLLY & MICKEY
