Police Undercover Teens Buy Alcohol in 4 Fulton Businesses; Refused in 13 Others
Last Friday, Fulton Police sent people under 21 years old into 17 Fulton businesses to try to buy alcohol.
The good news: 13 stores, liquor stores and bars said no.
The bad news: 4 said yes.

Grant Helps Hannibal Music Students Take Field Trip
Despite cuts in field trip funds this year, students studying music at Hannibal High School were provided a unique opportunity through a grant from Target. Secured by music teacher, Shirley Terrinoni, the field trip grant gave students a chance to learn about careers in the area of music, as well as numerous other related jobs.

Oswego Community Christian School Auction Scheduled
Plans are under way for one of the area’s premier fundraising events, the Oswego Christian Community School’s third annual auction. Scheduled for May 15, the auction will be held from 1 – 5 p.m. at the Oswego Armory, West First Street.

Operation Safe Stop Planned In Oswego
The Oswego City Police Department will be participating in “Operation Safe Stop†on Thursday. Officers in the city of Oswego will be joining law enforcement officers across the state in an effort to promote school bus safety through education and enforcement efforts.

Fulton Sells Another Tax-Foreclosed Home at a Small Profit
A third city-owned house has been sold, for more than it was worth.
The city seized 862 West First St. in April, 2009 for unpaid property taxes. It’s a one-family home, 1,300 square feet, with three bedrooms and one and a half bathrooms.
The home is assessed at $62,000. It was listed for sale at $74,900. It sold for $79,000.

Syracuse Man Arrested in Fulton for DWI Under Leandra’s Law
Fulton Police announced Monday the arrest and ticketing of a man under Leandra’s Law, which makes it a felony to drive drunk when a child is in the car.
Police allege they stopped Jeffrey J. Bryant’s car for going 41 miles an hour in a 30 mile an hour zone on the Broadway bridge. In the car with him were an adult woman and a three month old child.

Oswego Council Maintains Support For Harborfest
Councilors voted 5-2 Monday night to transfer more than $77,000 into overtime accounts for this summer’s Harborfest. However, even those in favor of the move agreed something has to change next year in light of the city’s financial situation.
