Some of the topics to be covered in the presentation include how families and caregivers can be involved in the transition process; how to assist an individual in exploring the world outside of school, and choosing whether or not to work; eligibility issues for agency services; how income and benefits impact one another; available services and opportunities for adults with disabilities in the community; and accessing those services as well as transportation.

Community Meeting On Improving Fishing Safety On Oswego River Set Wednesday
Mayor Randolph Bateman has announced that a meeting will be held on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the EconoLodge to enable the community to discuss ways to improve fishing safety on the Oswego River.

New Oswego School Board Meeting Schedule
The Oswego City School District Board of Education has adopted the “Committee System†and therefore the dates for this year’s meetings will be changed. The originally scheduled meeting for today (Oct. 5) will not be conducted.
Schumer Announces NRC Security Improvements
US Senator Charles Schumer revealed that the NRC has completed an audit conducted at his urging and will beef up security at nuclear power plants around the country. Recommendations include more training to identify possible terrorists, access to criminal data bases and more frequent re-screening of employees.
