Oswego State men’s lacrosse denied by St. John Fisher
Cody Hoose’s point-blank shot was denied with less than five seconds remaining on the clock to keep the contest from extra frames, as the Oswego State men’s lacrosse team (8-4) lost to St. John Fisher (9-3), 6-5, Wednesday.

Melissa Martin, OHS art teacher, explained, “This is a juried show and this year received over 600 entries, accepting approximately 50% to be hung in the gallery.” Cabanlig created a self portrait entitled, “Don’t put your eye out”

Cayuga CC students receive scholarships from NYS Sheriffs’ Association
Two Cayuga Community College students each received a scholarship from the NYS Sheriffs’ Association. Danielle Miles and Brett Konu received the awards from the Cayuga County Sheriff David Gould and Oswego County Sheriff Reuell Todd, respectively.

Police: Fulton Man’s Throat Cut After Sex Set Up Through Craigslist
A Fulton man is lucky to be alive after the man he met for anonymous sex slashed his throat and left him for dead.
Syracuse Police report that the 30 year old Fulton man placed an ad on the free classifieds website Craigslist looking for another man to meet him for sex.

Group Shines Light On Issue Of College Student Suicides
More than 1,000 backpacks were meticulously scattered about the campus quad today (April 18) at SUNY Oswego. Many of them had the names of their “owners” affixed to them. They came from a myriad backgrounds and hometowns; names like Mike, Brian, Meg, Kyle, Shari, Joe, Sam, and Mom. The common thread that will forever tie them to each other – they were all college students who took their own lives.
