SUNY Oswego graduate students Randy Belcher and Dan Cutler will demonstrate their emotion-measuring research using Kinect — part of Microsoft’s Xbox 360 gaming system — at the college’s Quest symposium April 18.

Steve Canale and his staff of the Press Box, will be providing the next Guest Chef Dinner for the Oswego Salvation Army on April 24 serving from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. for dining in or taking out, at the Citadel, 73 W. Second St.

The Oswego County Health Department will hold a rabies clinic for dogs, cats and pet ferrets from 6 to 8 p.m. on April 11 at the Oswego County Highway Garage on State Route 104 East, Scriba.

Whether you were tracking the growing pile of shorn locks or the thousands of dollars that kept pouring in, by either measure, the 6th annual Oswego St. Baldrick’s Foundation fundraiser was a tremendous success, according to organizer Dan Witmer.

SUNY Oswego’s Retired & Senior Volunteer Program has joined with the Families and Schools Together program to recruit volunteers ages 55 and older who have empathy for children and can work one-on-one to tutor or mentor them.

On April 21 from 1 to 3 p.m. the 7th Annual “Clean
Sweep” will take place in Oswego. RSVP is coordinating the event on behalf of the city of Oswego and SUNY Oswego.

SUNY Oswego’s Retired & Senior Volunteer Program will hold an orientation for retired or semi-retired people who want to volunteer at 3 p.m. April 18, at Mapleview Family Restaurant.
