Family Court Attendant Celebrates 90th Birthday, Retires
For nearly three decades, “T” Borden helped keep Family Court running smoothly. Her family and friends say she treated everyone with compassion and professionalism no matter what the circumstances. The woman who welded tank parts during World War II said she won’t just sit around now that she’s retired. She vowed to stay busy.
Church to host free dinner
The Minetto United Methodist Church will host a free dinner on December 30. Serving will be from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The menu will be baked ziti, meatballs, Italian bread, and dessert.
Compass Credit Union Provides Schools Holiday Help
Compass Credit Union recently donated $2,500 to be split evenly between Fitzhugh Park, Leighton, Charles Riley and Kingsford Park elementary schools as well as the middle school, which will be used in the holiday assistance to families and students in need.
Student Veterans Raise Money to Help Military Service Members
In a ceremony at the college’s Fulton campus, the student organization’s leadership team presented a check for $1,000 to Peter Allen, the founder and Executive Director of the Thank a Service Member Charity, a local organization whose mission is to “honor the service and support the needs” of military veterans.
Burghart’s Artwork Featured at Library
Carol Tihy Burghart is the featured artist for December at the Oswego Public Library Art Gallery. Flowers and landscapes are the subject of her water color works.

The Minetto United Methodist Church will conduct its annual Christmas Eve Nativity Barn Service at 5 p.m. December 24, at the Greco Family Farm, 297 W. Fifth Street Road.
Fulton CROP Walk Report
The Fulton CROP Hunger Walk for Church World Service was held on October 14 and had 99 walkers. They walked either the Golden Mile or 5 kilometer routes and raised more than $8,300 for their efforts
