The publication, which helps inform education service officers, transition officers and the service members they counsel, named SUNY Oswego to its annual list in the “2013 Guide to Military-Friendly Colleges & Universities,” noting that schools on the list “go out of their way to implement military-friendly policies in support of our men and women in uniform.”

The Friends of Camp Hollis, the not-for-profit organization that supports Camp Hollis and its programs for youth, would like to thank the following businesses, organizations and community supporters for their generosity of financial contributions, in-kind donations or volunteering time to make 2012 a great season for the camp.
We hear a lot about using our assets at colleges and universities to help create jobs. I support efforts to see that our regional economy benefits from the intellectual capital and resources at our state’s higher education institutes.
When the calendar page flips to a new year, our thoughts often turn to the goals we would like to accomplish in the coming twelve months. What’s at the top of my list? Helping to create more jobs in Central and Northern New York.
The Oswego Public Library Public Computing Center will offer a free Credit Repair workshop on January 14 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Community Room.
Fulton Head Start recently had a Make ‘n Take night at the center. The children made wreaths, frosted cookies and did other fun activities while at the event. The parents seemed to have as much fun as the children at the event.
Oswego County Workforce New York, operated by the Division of Employment and Training, will hold a “New Year – New Career” workshop from 10 a.m. to noon Jan. 22, to help Social Security Disability Insurance beneficiaries learn about work incentives and rules that will help them return to work.
