As part of OPD’s 2013 Traffic Safety Initiative, the department will be conducting enhanced enforcement efforts throughout April and continuing periodically throughout the year, geared specifically toward vehicles that are passing stopped school buses in the city.
Two teams of students who won the “Battle of the Books” at Kingsford Park School will advance to the District “Battle” taking place April 22 at 6 p.m. in the OHS Ralph Faust Theater. Each team read 15 books from their age division and competed in a 16 question quiz testing their knowledge of the books.

The Oswego County Workforce New York office will sponsor a panel discussion of local employers at the new Cayuga Community College campus, 11 River Glen Plaza, from 1 to 4 p.m. May 7. The event is free and open to the public.
The two Fulton Rotary clubs will be co-sponsoring a high school exchange student during the 2013-14 school year. The clubs have been assigned a 17-year-old girl student from Brazil. Rotary requires that the students stay in three homes during each school year.
Irene Scruton has joined SUNY Oswego’s School of Business as director of the college’s master’s of business administration programs, announced Richard Skolnik, dean of the school. As Oswego’s MBA director with offices both on the main Oswego campus and at the SUNY Oswego Metro Center in Syracuse, Scruton oversees the full-time and part-time MBA degree programs in management and accounting as well as the online MBA program.
