A training course for new pesticide applicators will be held April 17 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Oswego County Cornell Cooperative Extension Office, 3288 Main St. Pre-registration is required by April 15.
Lupe Fiasco, a rapper noted for music on controversial social and political issues, will perform at 8 p.m. April 20, in SUNY Oswego’s Campus Center arena. Doors will open at 7 p.m. Air Dubai, a hip-hop band from Denver, will open the concert. The 31-year-old Grammy winner, born Wasalu Muhammad Jaco, rose to fame with his 2006 debut album, “Lupe Fiasco’s Food & Liquor.”
Harborfest brings back the traditional cash 50/50 raffle in 2013 after a one year absence, but with a new twist. In 2013, there will be three winners of three separate drawings. For 2013, people will spend just $3 but get three tickets with chances to win in each of three different drawings.

New York Sea Grant is encouraging people to participate in this opportunity to properly dispose of the unwanted and unused medicines, including veterinary drugs, to help keep pharmaceuticals out of the Great Lakes.
